6. If a fast beep sounds while
pressing any of the crystal
adjust keys, no more adjustment
is avaliable on that particular
key. Move to the hext higher
(coarser) adjustment key.
7. If unable to make the phase
meter needle stop moving
completely, see Section 6.2 for
the manual adjustment
procedure.
8. Once the crystals have been adjusted to give the same frequency (the phase meter
needle has stopped), press RESET on the XMT. The analog meters for channels 1
and 2 should deflect to the right. Release the RESET button and press
Enter
on the
GDP-32

to make a phase measurement. If everything has been done properly, the
phase should be close to 0.0.
9. Ensure that synchronization has been obtained by disconnecting the synchronization
cable and repeating the phase measurement.
Note: The XMT Sync screen instructions assume that there are standard analog cards in
channels 1 and 2. A NanoTEM card in either channel can cause the receiver to lock up if
the synchronization routine is tried.

Adjust crystal using SELECT UP/SELECT
DOWN for coarse, UP/DOWN ARROW for
medium, and PREV/NEXT FIELD for fine
adjust until phase meter needle stops
completely. Then press RESET on XMT.
Both meters should deflect to right.
CONTINUE to acquire phase data
ESCAPE to exit
CONT-Take data, ESC-Prev Menu
