DETAILED STEPS
PurposeCommand or Action
Enables privileged EXEC mode.enable
Step 1
Example:
Device> enable
Enter your password if prompted.
Enters global configuration mode.configure terminal
Example:
Device# configure terminal
Step 2
Specifies the interface type and number and enters interface
configuration mode.
interface type number
Example:
Device(config)# interface Gigabitethernet
0/1
Step 3
Disables an LLDP-MED TLV or LLDP packet reception on
a supported interface.
To enable LLDP on a Supported Interface, use the
lldp {med-tlv-select tlv | receive | transmit
command.
Note
no lldp {med-tlv-select tlv | receive | transmit}
Example:
Device(config-if)# no lldp receive
Step 4
Returns to privileged EXEC mode.end
Example:
Device(config-if)# end
Step 5
Enabling LLDP on a Supported Interface
LLDP information can be transmitted and received only on an interface where LLDP is configured and enabled.
Perform this task to enable LLDP.
