How to Program
" Parameters: Brakes
" 2-** Brakes
Parameter group fo r setting brake features in
the adjusta ble frequency drive.
" 2-0* DC Brakes
Parameter group for configuring the DC brake
and DC hold functions.
2-00 DC Hold Current
Range:
0 - 100%
*
50%
Function:
Enter a value for holding current as a percentage
of the rated motor current I
M,N
set in par.
1-24 Motor Current. 100% DC hold ing
current corresponds to I
M,N
.
This parameter holds the motor function (holding
torque) or pre-heats the motor.
This parameter is active if DC hold is selected
in par. 1-72 Start Function [0] or par. 1-80
Function at Stop [1].
NOTE
The maximum value d epends on the
rated motor current.
NOTE
Avoid 100% current for t oo long. I t m ay
damage the motor.
2-01 DC Brake Current
Range:
0 - 100%
*
50%
Function:
Enter a value for current as a percentage of the rated
motor current I
M,N
, see par. 1-24 Motor Curre nt.
100% DC braking current c orresponds to I
M,N
.
DC brake current is applied on a stop command ,
when the speed is lower than the limit set in
par. 2-0 3 DC Brake Cut In Speed; when the
DC Brake Inverse function is active; or via
the serial com m unication port. The braking
current is active during the time period set
in par. 2-02 DC Braking Time.
NOTE
Themaximumvaluedependsonthe
rated motor current.
NOTE
Avoid 100 % current for too long. It may
damage the motor.
2-02 DC Braking Time
Range:
0.0 - 60.0 s.
*
10.0s.
Function:
Set the duration of the DC braking current set
in par. 2-01, once activated.
2-03 DC Brake Cut-In Speed
Range:
0-par. 4-13RPM
*
0RPM
Function:
Set the DC brake cut-in s peed for activation
of the DC braking current set in par. 2-01,
upon a stop command.

braking pa rameters.
2-10 Brake Function
Option:
*
Off [0]
Resistor brake [1]
Function:
Select Off [0] if no brake re sistor is installed.
Select Resistor brake [1] if a brake resistor is
incorporated in the system , for dissipation of
surplus brake energy as heat. Connecting a brake
resistor allows a higher DC link voltage during
braking (generating operation). The Resistor brake
function is only active in frequency converters
with an integral dynamic brake.
2-11 Brake Resistor (ohm)
Option:
Ohm Dependson unit size.
Function:
Set the brake resistor value in Ohms. This value
is used for monitoring the power to the b rake
resistor in par. 2-13 Brake Power Monitoring. This
