8 Clean and inspect the OTDR port and the launch/tail cord
connectors.
9 Make the connections for the type of compensation you
selected, as shown on the SET LAUNCH METHOD screen. See
Figures 131, 132, and 133.
10 Tap SET.
11 When the SET LAUNCH COMP screen shows, select the event
or events that are the end of the launch cord and the start of
the tail cord (if you used a tail cord). When you do Launch +
Tail compensation, the end of the launch cord and the start of
the tail cord are the same event. See Figure 134.
12 Tap SAVE.
Figure 148 shows an example of an OTDR trace with launch and
tail markers enabled.
Note
If you change the launch or tail cord, do the
compensation procedure again.
