10.1.5 Accessing the 172-mm Fan Module
1. From the XSCF Shell prompt, use the replacefru command to disable the fan
to be removed.
The replacefru command is menu-driven. replacefru will continue while the
fan is removed and then test the fan. Refer to Section 4.3.1, “Removing and Replacing
a FRU” on page 4-7 for more information.
Caution – To prevent the equipment rack from tipping over, you must deploy the
antitilt feature, if applicable, before you slide the server out of the equipment rack.
Note – When drawing out the M4000/M5000 Server to the front, release the cable tie
holding the PCI cables on the rear of the server.
2. Deploy the rack’s antitilt features (if applicable) and slide the server out of the
equipment rack.
