5. If the slot is covered with a blank plate, loose its screws with a cross screwdriver and
remove the plate.
6. Position the SCM module so that its front side faces you. Make sure that the lever is on the
left side and the SCM module is plain with the outside edge of the expansion slot. Rotate
the levers to outside, and slide the expansion module straight into the slot along the guide
rail.
7. Tighten the screws clockwise on the SCM module with a cross screwdriver.
8. To install more SCM modules, repeat Step 1 to 6.
Installing an SIOM
The SIOM module of SG-6000-X8180 can be installed in any slot of slot1 to slot3. You can
choose the slot according to needs.
To install an SIOM module , take the following steps:
1. Make sure the SIOM expansion module will not be powered during the installation process.
2. Wear an electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap around your bare wrist and connect the strap to
an ESD point on the chassis. See ESD Prevention.
3. Take the SIOM module out from its antistatic bag.
