Replacing a Power Module
SG-6000-X10800 supports (3+1) x2 power module redundancy. If you remove one power mod-
ule out of the chassis which has four or more power modules, the system can still work. If you
remove one power module from the device with only three power modules left, the system will
not work normally.
SG-6000-X9180 and SG-6000-X7180 support 2+2 power module redundancy. If you remove
one power module out of the chassis which has three or four power modules, the system can still
work. If you remove one power module from the device with only two power modules left, other
modules except the SCM(s) will stop working.
SG-6000-X8180 supports (1+1) power module redundancy. If you remove one power module
out of the chassis which has two power modules, the system can still work.
Replacing an AC Power Module
To replace an AC power module, take the following steps:
l Unplug the AC power cable from the power supply source.
l Wear an electrostatic discharge (ESD) strap around your bare wrist and connect the strap to an
ESD point on the chassis. See ESD Prevention.
l Remove the power cable from the power module.
l Pull the power module straight out of the chassis by pressing the lever and hold the handle.
l Put the removed power module into an antistatic bag or on a flat antistatic table.
l Install a replacement power module (see Installing a Power Module and Connecting an AC
Power Cable).
Notes: If you do not want to install a new module, apply a blank plate over the slot
to avoid dust falling into the chassis.
