7.4 Connecting the Instrument and Computer with the Supplied USB Cable

To uninstall, open Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Control
Panel, and select [3197 Applications].
Use only the supplied USB cable to connect the instrument to the com-
puter, by the following procedure.
The "Found New Hardware Wizard" launches when you connect the instru-
m
ent to the computer with the USB cable.
Uninstall Procedure
When updating the applications, first uninstall the old versions.

with the Supplied USB Cable
• To avoid malfunctions and data loss, do not plug or unplug the USB
cable while in use.
• Connect the earth grounds of this instrument and the computer to a
common grounding point.
Grounding to different points may result in a potential difference
bet
ween the grounds of the instrument and the computer, which could
cause malfunctions or damage when connecting the USB cable.

nector orientation,
insert the USB cable
plug into the port.
Remove the dust cap
from the USB port.

To avoid malfunctions and data loss, do not plug or unplug the USB

The "Found New Hardware Wizard" launches whenever an instrument
with a different serial No. is connected to the computer. It does not
launch again when the same instrument is reconnected later.
