WARNING
: When using a volatile solvent during the cleaning of parts for the system,
verify information (MSDS and the like) on the nature and handling of the
solvent, and be sure to handle it properly.
Do not put such chemicals near an open fire.
Ventilate a room.

Clean the part shown in Figure 5.1-10 using a cotton swab to which the metal polishing agent
(See Section 1.6) is applied, and then using an ultrasonic cleaner (See Section 5.1.1) with
acetone to remove any residual metal polishing agent or particles. Remove lint and any
particles with an air blower. If such particles still remain, image distortion can occur with
astigmatism spots on the image. For the explanation of astigmatism, refer to 4.2.11 2.
Astigmatism Correction. As for the metal polishing agent, please prepare by customers if
needed. We recommend [PIKAL(paste) : Manufactured by NIHON MARYO-KOGYO
CO.,LTD.].

With respect to the anode, clean the part shown in Figure 5.1-13, as in the case of the
Wehnelt. Use an ultrasonic cleaner with acetone to remove any residual metal polishing
agent or particles, and remove lint and particles with an air blower. For the removal
procedure, see 5.3 4.
