Send gratuitous ARP packets when
receiving ARP requests from another
network segment
Enable the device to send gratuitous ARP packets upon receiving ARP
requests from another network segment.
By default, the device does not send gratuitous ARP packets upon
receiving ARP requests from another network segment.
Static ARP configuration example
Network Requirements
As shown in Figure 234, hosts are connected to Switch A, and Switch A is connected to Router B through
GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 in VLAN 100.
To ensure secure communications between Switch A and Router B, configure a static ARP entry on Switch
A for Router B.

Configuring Switch A
1. Create VLAN 100:
a. From the navigation tree, select Network > VLAN.
b. Click the Add tab.
c. Enter 100 for VLAN ID and click Create.
