2.3. Logger Battery
The Kaye ValProbe RT Logger contains a field-replaceable 3.6 VDC, Lithium Thionyl Chloride
½ AA battery.
WARNING! To prevent ignition in a hazardous atmosphere, the battery must be
changed only in an area known to be non-hazardous.
Do not heat the battery above 140ºC. For measuring temperatures above
140ºC, a special probe and insulating canister are required to keep the
temperature of the Logger below 140ºC for the duration of the study (See
Section 2.1.4).
Use only the factory-specified battery (part number M3205) in the Kaye
ValProbe RT Logger. The use of non-specified batteries will void the
warranty and may damage the Logger and/or cause burns to the operator.
Replacement battery kits are available from Kaye.
Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal
regulations.

Before starting a Qualification in the Select Logger screen, a Battery Estimate button displays,
that if selected, navigates to a screen to enter the min and max temperature of the process
and the duration of time. Once entered the estimator displays the battery life remaining as well
as the estimated usage during the Qualification. This provides assurances that you have
ample battery life remaining for the study.
