Base Station IRTD / Bath Connections
Located at the rear of the Base Station, IRTD and Kaye References connections are used for
Sensor Verification. Using the supplied cables, connect the IRTD and bath to the appropriately
marked connectors. Cables and connections are backward compatible to all Kaye baths, dry
blocks, and IRTDs. The ValProbe RT software provides fully automated sensor verification of
ValProbe RT Loggers (See Chapter 11 for details on Sensor Verification).

Base Station Battery Backup
Kaye ValProbe RT Base Station has battery backup for up to 60 minutes. The Base Station is
powered by two 3.7V AA size rechargeable Lithium batteries. The Base Station has a built-in
charger, so batteries are charged automatically when there is a main supply available to the
Base Station. To replace batteries, first shut off the Base Station using ON-OFF switch. Then,
open the sliding panel on the back of the Base Station and replace the batteries in the
compartment displayed in the figure below. Do not power on the Base Station until the
compartment cover is properly secured.

CAUTION! ONLY Use Kaye #200-166 3.7 V lithium secondary (rechargeable) batteries.
Using any other batteries renders the stated performance void as Kaye #200-
166 3.7V batteries are the only brand tested and accepted.
ATTENTION !
Insertion of a non-rechargeable battery may cause over-heating and
explosion.
L'insertion d'une batterie non rechargeable peut provoquer une surchauffe et une
explosion.
