Feed funnel:
The feed deflector plates (figure 6.16) within the box, may be contaminated after a period of time. In order to avoid
fungous and clogging, the plates should be cleaned on a regular basis.
• While fitting the plates make sure that they align well avoiding feed to fall in-between. Also ensure that the
deflector plates are fitted well into the fixating cam, so that the cows cannot push them loose.
• Make sure that the pneumatic feed cylinder is secured, and cannot be removed.
• Stay clear from the pneumatic feed cylinder. The sharp edges and the power generated
by the cylinder make it as sharp as a razor blade.
Clean the deflector plates (figure 6.16) every month by means
of the following procedures:
• Release air pressure from the system.
• Push the top deflector plate up (1a, figure 6.16). The
deflector plate is now easy to remove (1b). Remove (old
models) or rotate 90° upwards (new models) the bottom
deflector plate (2).
• Clean both deflector (top and bottom) plates. Clean the
small space between the vertical plate and the front of the
box.
• Install both deflector plates as soon as they are completely
dry. The small space between the vertical deflector plate
and the box should be completely dry as well. Moist plates
will immediately be covered with feed again, which will
eliminate the effect of the cleaning operations immediately.
Save life switch:
Check the performance of the save life switch by pressing the
test button (A, figure 6.17). The milking robot should switch off
immediately. If this is not the case, the save life switch should
be replaced IMMEDIATELY. If the save life switch functions
well, the milking robot can be switched on again as follows:
• Engage the "ON/OFF" button (B) to position "ON" (located
behind the LH door of the Multiple function control box).
• Then press the "RESET" button (B4). For more information
refer to section 2.4.2 ’Control function keys’.
