TROUBLESHOOTING CHARTS
Problem 1
Engine will not turn over to start.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Dead battery; Loose connection on battery; Bad starter; Bad
solenoid (MS1) relay, or starter solenoid (SS).
CHECKS
Check for voltage at battery terminals while attempting to start engine. (See Test
1.)
10 volts DC or more 10 volts DC or less
Check circuit breaker CB1.
If Good If Bad
Check battery static volts. (See Test 1.)
12 Volts DC or more
12 Volts DC or less
Replace circuit breaker.
Charge or replace battery.
Check electrical connections in starter circuit from
battery to starter.
Connections Good Connections Bad
Check cab start switches and
starter circuit connections.
Clean connections
or replace starter.
Check start solenoid (MS1) relay.
If Good
If Bad
Replace start solenoid (MS1) relay or wiring.
Check starter solenoid and starter motor.
If Good
If Bad
Repair or replace solenoid or motor.
Disengage clutch and attempt to start engine.
Engine Turns
Engine Does Not Turn
Pump or drive damage.
Disassemble and investigate.
Engine or flywheel is damaged. Disassemble and investigate.
