Test 15 – Checking Pump Charge Pressure
The most convenient method of measuring the pump charge
pressure is to install a 0-500 psi gauge at the desired
system diagnostic gauge coupler at the transducer manifold
assembly. Start the system and record the charge pressure
at engine idle speed. No hydraulic systems should be
energized. A measurement of 350 psi is normal charge
pressure. A measurement under 350 psi indicates a charge
pressure relief adjustment is necessary. See Test 14.
