Morgana DocuMaster MFC - Service Manual 87
4. Service Procedures - Machine Adjustments and Calibration
4.5.18.2 Adjust the Crease Stretch
The crease stretch trim adjustment makes allowance for manufacturing tolerances
between different creaser modules. The stretch measurement is a known number of
motor steps that is approximately equal to 4 x circumference of the input rollers. The
stretch trim makes the crease position accurate on the sheet.
Note: The
inner pair of edge-sensors are used by default when
the MFC Test program does the crease stretch check.
Figure 4.65 Measure the Crease Stretch Distance
• A (-) offset value will reduce the crease stretch.
• A (+) offset value will increase the crease stretch.
12 Adjust the outer pair skew offset
trim to make the crease parallel to
the lead-edge of the sheet.
Do Steps 5 thru 8.
13 Do a check to see if the crease
s
tretch trim is correct.
(See Section 4.5.18.2).
Step Action Information
Step Action Information
1 Do a skew offset check (if you did
not do
it before this.).
(See Section 4.5.18.1)
2 Feed a single sheet of test stock
through the MFC.
• Remove the sheet from the
gathering area.
3 Do a check to see if the stretch
crease trim is correct.
• Put the sheet on a flat surface.
• Do a check to see if the distance
between the first crease and the
stretch crease is 320mm (see
Figure 4.65).
4 Adjust the stretch crease trim to
make the dist
ance between the
first crease and the stretch crease
measure 320mm.
Set a stretch trim value
in the setting box.
