9-46 Upgrading Your Server
Removal
1.
See section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.
IMPORTANT: The remote management card logic monitors and logs system voltage
changes. When removing the RMC from the motherboard, you may experience a 3 - 4
second delay from the time your system powering down.
2. Open the levers on the both sides of the RMC connector to unlatch the RMC.
3. Remove the RMC from the connector.
4. Run BIOS SETUP utility and check to see that [Event Log Configuration] is not displayed in the [Server]
menu.
See Chapter 4 for details.
5. Run BIOS SETUP utility and select "Yes" for [Reset Configuration Data] in the [Advanced] menu.
This setting is required to change the hardware configuration data. See Chapter 4 for details.
6. Override installation of ESMPRO Agent if installed.
To collect the system information and event log from the management PC, ESMPRO Agent must be installed
in the server.
