8.8.4. Position Adjustment of Home Limit Sensor
There are many phase Zs (marker for position detection) inside the Motor.
In the Home Return operation modes of OS3, 4, and 7, the System senses a change in detecting state of the
home limit sensor (travel limit in case for the parameter OS’) and recognizes that the Motor is nearing to
the home position, and then finally sets the position of phase Z signal as the home position. Thus, the
repeatability of detecting home position is well maintained regardless of the sensitivity of the home
position limit.
Caution : Be sure to adjust the position of limit sensor when the parameter OS is set
to OS3, 4 or '7. Otherwise, the repeatability of detecting home position will
not be maintained.
Design the position of limit sensor so that it can be adjusted
in ± 4.5 angle degrees.
The following describe the procedure to adjust the home position limit.
1) Temporally set the home limit sensor. At this time set the position on the slightly front side of
the position to be the home position.
2) Check the wiring of home limit sensor.
3) Check if the Driver Unit recognizes the input HLS.
Input the BS key to abort repetitive readout.
4) Turn the Motor servo on.
5) Check the position of the home limit sensor. Execute the command HS/LS (Home position
sensor adjust). The Motor starts the Home Return operation.
Input the BS key to stop the Home Return operation.

TO ABORT,PUSH [BS]_
The Motor recognizes the home limit sensor and stops at the first phase Z signal from the
changed point of detecting state of the sensor.
6) The display reports how much the home position sensor is off from the phase Z signal.

:
The position of the home limit sensor is acceptable if the readout of the monitor TR (RDC data)
is between 16 384 and 49 152.
The position of the home limit sensor is not acceptable if the readout of the monitor TR
indicates between 0 and 16 383. In such a case, shift the home limit sensor in the CW direction.
The position of the home limit sensor is not acceptable if the readout of the monitor TR is
between 49 153 and 65 535. In such a case, shift the home limit sensor in the CCW direction.
Repeat the procedure 5) and 6) until you have a satisfactory result.
