8-6 Security Functions
Two security functions with passwords are provided.
Data Transfer Security
The screen data can be prevented from disclosure and changes by setting a
password of up to 8 alphanumeric characters for transferring screen data to
the PT and prohibiting read/write operations by users other than the adminis-
trator.
Operation Security (NV4W/NV3Q)
Levels can be set for parts and users to restrict the contents that can be dis-
played and the operations that can be performed. The user level is managed
by passwords.

Setting Passwords
1,2,3... 1. Toolbar Select PT – Transfer – Transfer from the toolbar. The Transfer Data
Dialog Box will be displayed.
2. Set a password.
Additional Information
• The password settings can be read by reading the screen data from the NV-
Designer.
• We recommend that you use both the operation security function and data
transfer security function to protect security passwords.

rity Button at the upper right of
the dialog box.
