8. Remove the shift sector gear

IMPORTANT
Note the timing marks on the shift gears for reassembly
purposes.
9. Remove the detent pawl

, shift shaft

, and the
other shift sector gear

10.Remove the O-rings
h
from each shaft and discard.
Use new O-rings upon assembly.
11. If equipped with parking brake disc (INTL models
only), remove the parking brake disc fastener,
washer, and disc from the transmission.
12.Remove all the transmission case bolts

13.Using suitable pry bars, remove the cover using the
designated pry points (indicated by the arrows in the
illustration below).
IMPORTANT
Do not pry on case sealing surfaces. Use only the
designated pry points on the transmission.
