2. Remove the (3) one-way clutch retaining screws.
3. Remove the one-way clutch and inspect both sides of
drive rollers (B). Inspect the roller contact surface (C)
inside the hub for wear, damage or uneven surface.
4. Inspect drive surface of starter gear (D) and bushing
(E) for wear, damage or uneven surface. If any starter
one-way clutch component is worn or damaged,
replace the clutch and starter gear as an assembly.
Starter One-Way Clutch Assembly
1. Install one-way clutch in clutch hub with flange of
clutch (F) engaged in recess.
2. Clean screw threads in flywheel to remove all oil or
grease.
3. Place one-way clutch on flywheel and install the (3)
screws. Torque screws to specification.
4. Reassemble starter one-way clutch and gear using
the following illustration.
