8.15 External Adjustments
The external adjustment is a protected service procedure, that requires a Protection
Level 2 password. The exact test procedure is described in the service manual.
Access:
1. Select "SGMA-GUI > Instrument Name > Protection" and enter the Protection
Level 2 password.
(See "Unlocking of protected service functions" on page 134)
2. Select "SGMA-GUI > Instrument Name > Service > External Adjustments".
Depending on the installed options, the R&S SGS is equipped with a TCXO or OCXO
reference oscillator. The reference oscillator is factory calibrated to a specific calibra-
tion value. In the external adjustment dialog, you can select a different (custom) cali-
bration value.
Active Adjustment Data
Selects whether the factory provided or a custom defined calibration value is used to
adjust the reference oscillator.

Calibration Value
Sets a user definable calibration value.
The permanent storage of this value in the instrument's memory is a password protec-
ted function. The exact test procedure is described in the service manual.
This parameter is restored to its permanently stored value by "Preset" and instrument
restart.
