Alarms5-16 SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx 4.1.2 Operator
5.6 Alarms and OSx Station Synchronization
When the database is locked during station synchronization, the operator
needs to be aware of the following points concerning alarms.
• The alarm icon and the silence target appear on all OSx stations except
the primary and the station that is synchronizing.
• For new alarms, the alarm sounds on all stations except the primary
and the station that is synchronizing.
• While the database is locked, an operator can silence alarms at any
station except the primary and the station that is synchronizing.
• Alarms that occurred before the database was locked can be
acknowledged from any station except the primary and the station that
is synchronizing.
• An operator cannot acknowledge an alarm that occurs while the
database is locked until the system unlocks the database.
When the database is unlocked following OSx station synchronization, these
events occur:
• The alarm icon and the silence target appear on the primary for new
alarms after the system unlocks the database.
• The alarm sounds on the primary for new alarms after the system
unlocks the database.
• If an alarm tag has multiple alarms (for example, a DI10 havin g
alarms 1--10), and some of the alarms are acknowledged while some are
unacknowledged, an OSx station synchronizing in the Operate state
will show all of the alarms for that tag as unacknowledged.
