OSx Station Control 2-7SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx 4.1.2 Operator
2.3 Role_Change Command
With only one OSx station, the only roles to which the operator can set the
station are primary and out_of_service. In normal operation, the sole OSx
station must have the primary role. The only function for the out_of_service
role in single-station systems is to prepare the station to join it to another
system.
The out_of_service role leaves communications between the station and the
control nodes intact. All control node commands are available.
To return the OSx station of a single-station system to the primary role from
out_of_service, reboot the station. Refer to the procedures for powering
down and powering up in Section 1.5.
!
WARNING
An OSx station in the out_of_service role can communicate with control nodes.
You can interact with the plant process using an OSx station that is in the
out_of_service role. Any diagnostic routines or other tasks that you run on the
station can affect plant operations, which could cause death or serious injury to
personnel, and/or damage to equipment.
Be aware that any actions that you take on an OSx station in the out_of_service
role may be communicated to control nodes. For safety, set the out_of_service
station to the Offline state.
