1.7 Identifying Screen Areas
Figure 1-9 shows the elements of the main screen area.
Menu Bar Click any of the choices in the menu bar to display submenus
containing additional configuration options.
Main Screen Area This is the main working area of the screen. D ialog
boxes, graphics, and various other displays appear in this area.
System Messages When the operator is using any system functions other
than the graphical editor, OSx displays messages in this area.
Graphical Editor Messages When the graphical editor is running in the
background mode, the system displays graphical editor messages in this
area.
Information Area This shows OSx station status: User ID, date and
time, system state, station name, role, and terminal number, (Figure 1-9).
The terminal number is 1 to designate the OSx station, or 2--5 to designate
X terminals, if any are connected.
The following codes indicate system information for the OSx station:
P=Primary.
B=Backup.
A=Sysadmin.
Blank = Normal role.
X = Out_of_service.
T = Transition (primary station only)
RE-SYNC = Station is out of sync.
= Padlock indicates database is locked during the
resynchronization of an OSx station.
=UserID
Alarm Area An OSx station displays a flashing alarm icon if upset
conditions occur when the system is in the Operate state. The alarm area
also displays the alarm silence and action request icons.
