OSx Station Basics 1-11SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx 4.1.2 Operator
The OSx station allows you to monitor and control the application process
through the exchange of data with the control nodes. You can perform the
following functions on an OSx station:
• Display graphics, trends, tag details, tag groups, alarms, and report
previews.
• Configure trend groups, tag groups, reports, recipes, alarm groups,
action requests.
• Provide alarm summary and acknowledgement.
• Download recipes to control nodes (operator and controller initiated).
• Allow operator interaction with action requests.
• Receive tag configuration data from APT or the S7 Engineering Toolset
on an engineeering station.
• Transmit files to an MIS computer (RDT or @aGlance options) to
maintain a historical record of the process.
SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx supports two types of OSx stations: supervisory and
operator. The supervisory station is capable of additional functions. You can
connect up to four supervisory stations to a system. To determine the type of
software loaded on the OSx station, select
Help-->About OSx from the menu
bar. If the first letter in the OSx Version field is S, the station is supervisory;
if the first letter is O, the station is an operator station.
