4.3 Task and structure of the example
Protecting a metalworking press
● The hazardous area is protected by permanent isolating protective equipment.
● The insertion point is additionally protected by electrosensitive protective equipment
(ESPE).
● The working stroke of the press is triggered with a two-hand operator panel. If the zone
protected by the electrosensitive protective equipment is entered during operation, or if
the EMERGENCY STOP is activated, the press drive is immediately switched off (stop
category 0).
● The press starts once the protective zone of the ESPE has been enabled and the two-
hand operator panel has been actuated.
Note
To enable two-hand operation, the start pushbutton must be pressed after unlocking the
EMERGENCY STOP.
