5.3.12 Grounding
WARNING
Hazardous Voltage.
Can Cause Death, Serious Injury, or Property Damage.
Before grounding or wiring an electrical device, you must ensure that the power supply for
the device is switched off. Ensure that all the connected devices are also switched off.
Grounding via the FE terminal
All electrical devices must be grounded and wired properly not only to ensure that your
system functions as smoothly as possible but also to provide additional noise immunity for
your application.
Connect the FE terminal of the devices (if available) to the ground bus with low impedance.
To ensure maximum noise immunity, connect all the joint DC return lines to ground at the
same place.
The ground cables must be as short as possible and have as large a connection cross-
section as possible (e.g. 2 mm
2
).
Grounding the diagnostics module
The diagnostics module must also be grounded via the ground connection on the rear.
