4.6 Configuring the MSS
Configuration

1 Switch on your PC/PG. Install the MSS ES
software. Administrator rights are required
here.

The MSS ES software is installed on your computer.
2 Start the MSS ES software and choose
"Switching device" > "New..." >"Safety relays"
> "SIRIUS Modular Safety System 3RK3".
The MSS ES software opens.
3 Connect the central unit to your
PC/programming device using the PC cable.
The MSS is connected to the PC/PG.
4 On the left of the navigation window, select
the "Identification" directory and then the
"Project" subdirectory.
5 Make entries in the following lines of the work
space:
• Project name
• Name of configuration engineer
• Configuration engineer's company name
6 On the left of the navigation window, select
the "Configuration" directory and then the
"Main system" subdirectory.
7 Drag the 3RK3 Basic central unit from the
catalog window to the first green-illuminated
row in the work space for the hardware
configuration.
