Application
Interface modules are the interface between the MSS and a higher-level bus system, e.g.
PROFIBUS DP. The MSS uses them to make diagnostics and status information available to
a higher-level controller. Non-safety-related input and output signals can be set/read.
Device power-up of DP interface
Once the hardware has been successfully initialized, the LED and display test is carried out.
Then the connection between the DP interface and the central unit is established.
The DEVICE LED flashes to indicate device power-up.

Once the device has successfully powered up, the DP interface appears on PROFIBUS or is
detected on PROFIBUS as a slave.
If the DP interface has been successfully configured via PROFIBUS, it takes part in cyclic
data exchange on the DP side.
