3.6 Motor protection

The trip class (CLASS) specifies the maximum time within which a protective device must
trip from a cold state at 7.2 x the setting current (motor protection to IEC 60947). The tripping
characteristics represent the time to disengagement as a function of the operating current.

The setting options of the trip classes are dependent on the motor starter and the current
range.
The following trip classes can be configured:
● CLASS 5 (10a)
● CLASS 10
● CLASS 15
● CLASS 20
● CLASS OFF (deactivates the thermal motor model)
