FAULT 53 Continued... LEAK TEST 2 FAIL (Cont’d)
5. Perform self-diagnostic to determine if leak comes from
hose assembly (use plugs already provided). If yes,
change and lubricate endoscope connection O-ring (refer
to S
ECTIONS 6.13 and 6.14) or change hose assembly.
6. Ensure hose plug remains properly in place on extremity of
leak test hose for all duration of self-diagnostic test. If
unsuccessful, go to Step 4 a
nd Step 5 if necessary.
Alarm sounds, and display shows:
FAULT 54
CYCLE DELAYED
alternating with:
SEE FAULT CHART
CYCLE DELAYED
Printout message:

LEAK TEST PORT 1: HOSE ASSEMBLY DETECTED
Press ALARM REPLY touch pad to silence audible alarm.
Possible causes:
1. Endoscope present in processor (with hose connected)
during initiation of D-SHORT or D-LONG cycle.
2. Hose assembly 1 connected to processor.
Cycle is automatically aborted. User is required to:
1. Verify no endoscope is present in processor (with hose
connected). If yes, remove endoscope and hose assembly
and restart decontamination cycle. If not, go to Step 2.

Verify no hose assembly is connected to processor leak test
port 1. If yes, remove hose assembly, if not, go to Step 3.
3. Perform self-diagnostic without hose assembly to
determine if leak comes from processor system. If yes, call
STERIS.*
