6.7.1.2 Creating Tool Descriptions
PathPilot uses keywords and paerns in the tool descripon to recognize tooling features. Refer to
the secon Using Tool Keywords later in this chapter for more informaon.
Example: "Dia:.3125 4FL R:03 AlTiN CRB variable loc:.75"
This descripon provides the following informaon for PathPilot to calculate machining informaon:
• 0.3125 tool diameter
• Four utes
• 0.03 radius, or "bullnose"
• Aluminum-tanium nitrade coang
• Carbide
• Variable helix
• 0.75 length of cut (loc)
