ROCKER ARM AND CAMSHAFT REMOVAL
1.Remove:
• Rocker arm shafts (intake and exhaust)
CD
• Rocker arms ®
NOTE: _
Use a slide hammer @ to remove the rocker
arm shafts.
. Slide
hammer bolt (M8):

2.Remove:
• Camshaft bushing
CD
• Camshaft ®
NOTE: _
Screw a 10 mm bolt ® into the threaded
end
of the camshaft and pullout the cam-
shaft.
ROCKER ARM AND CAMSHAFT INSPECTION
1.1nspect:
• Camshaft bushings
Damage/wear
---1 Replace.
2.1nspect:
• Camshaft lobes
CD
• Valve adjusters ®
Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches ---1
Replace.
3.Measure:
• Camshaft lobe length
® and width <6>
Out of specification ---1 Replace.
Camshaft lobe
limit:
Intake
® 39.63 mm (1.56 in)
<6> 32.12 mm (1.265 in)
Exhaust
® 39.67 mm (1.562 in)
<6> 32.20 mm (1.268 in)
