THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS)
INSPECTION
AND ADJUSTMENT
NOTE: _
Before adjusting the TPS, the idling speed
should be properly adjusted.
1.1nspect:
•
TPS resistance

Inspect steps:
• Disconnect the
TPS coupler.
• Remove the
TPS from the carburetor.
• Connect the pocket tester
(Q x 1 k) to the
TPS connector.
Tester
(+) lead ~ Black terminal CD
Tester (-) lead -7 Blue terminal ®
• Check the TPS resista nee.
~ TPS resistance NR,N:
\ 4.0 ,.. 6.0 kQ at 20°C
(Black - Blue)
Out
of specification ---7 Replace the TPS .
• Connect the pocket tester
(Q x 1k) to the
TPS connector.
Tester
(+) lead ---7 Yellow terminal ®
Tester (-) lead ---7 Black terminal CD
.While slowly turning the throttle check the
TPS resistance.

~ 0 ..., 5 ±1.0 kQ at 20"C
(Yellow - Black)
Out
of specification ~ Replace the TPS.
