BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION
1.Stand the motorcycle on a level
su
rface.
NOTE: _
• When inspecting the brake
fluid
level,
make sure the motorcycle is upright.
• Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
2.lnspect:
• Brake fluid level

below
the "LOWER

Fill to proper level.
Recommended brake fluid:
DOT 4
NOTE: _
For a correct reading
of
the brake fluid
level, make sure the
top
of
the
handlebar
brake fluid reservoir is horizontal.
Brake
fluid
may corrode
painted
surfaces
or
plastic parts. Always clean up
any
spilt
fluid
immediately.
A WARNING
• Use
only
the
designated brake fluid.
Other
fluids
may
deteriorate
the
rubber
seals, causing leakage and
poor
brake
performance.
• Refill
with
the
same
type
of
fluid.
Mixing
fluids
may
result in a
harmful
chemical
reaction leading
to
poor
brake
perlor·
mance.
• When refilling, be careful
that
water
does
not
enter
the
brake
fluid
reservoir. Water
will
significantly
lower
the
boiling
point
of
the
fluid
and
may
cause
vapor
lock.
