SWINGARM INSPECTION
1.Check:
• Swingarm free play

Inspection steps:
.Check the tightening torque of the swing-
arm pivot shaft securing nuts.
Securing

Left:
100
Nm (10 m • kg, 72.3 f1 • Ib)
Right:
7
Nm (0.7 m • kg, 5.1 ft· Ib)
Right· nut:
100 Nm (10 m • kg, 72.3 ft • Ib)
• Check the swingarm side play
~ by mov-
ing the swingarm from side to side.
If side play is noticeable, check the inner
collar, bearing, washer and
thrust cover.
Side
play (at swingarm end):
Zero
mm
• Check the swingarm vertical movement
ffi] by moving it up and down.
If vertical movement is not smooth or if
there is binding, check the inner collar,
bearing, washer and
thrust cover.

• Swingarm
Cracks/bends/damage
-? Replace.
3.1nspect:
• Pivot shafts
Damage/wear
-? Rep'lace.
NOTE: _
Wash the swingarm pivoting parts in a sol-
vent.
