Yamaha XVS650 - Fuel Level Adjustment

Measurement and adjustment steps:
• Place the motorcycle on a level surface.
• Put the motorcycle on a suitable stand
to
ensure that the carburetor assembly is
positioned vertically.
• Connect the fuel level gauge
CD to the
drain pipe.

1.Measure:
• Fuel level

Out of specification ~ Adjust
Fuel level:
7.5
..., 8.5 mm (0.3 ..., 0.33 in)
(below the float chamber line)
Fuel level gauge:
YM-01312-A,90890-01312
• Loosen the drain screw ev.
e Hold the gauge vertically next to the float
chamber line
(6).
• Measure the fuel level with the gauge.
• If the fuel level is incorrect, adjust it.
• Remove the carburetor assembly.
• Inspect the valve seat and needle valve.
elf either is worn, replace them both.
•
If both are fine, adjust the float level by
slightly bending the float tang
@.
• Install the carburetor assembly.
• Check the fuel level again.
