a.Measure:
• Clutch spring free length
Out
of specification ~ Replace the clutch
springs
as a set.
Free length (clutch spring):
39.5 mm (1.555 in)
<Wear limit>:
38.5 mm (1.516 in)

• Dogs (on the clutch housing)
Pitting/wear/damage
~ Deburr or replace.
• Clutch housing bearing
Wear/damage
~ Replace the clutch hous-
ing.
NOTE: _
Pitting on the clutch housing dogs will
cause erratic operation.
10.lnspect:
• Clutch boss splines
Pitting/wear/damage
~ Replace the clutch
boss.
NOTE: _
Pitting on the clutch boss splines will cause

11.1nspect:
• Pressure plate
Cracks/damage
~ Replace.
