1. Inspect:
 Drive gear (oil pump)

 Driven gear (oil pump)

Cracks/wear/damage  Replace.
2. Measure:
 Tip clearance

(between the inner rotor

and the outer
rotor

)
 Side clearance
b
(between the outer rotor
2
and the pump
housing
3
)
Out of specification  Replace the oil
pump assembly.
Tip clearance:
0.12 mm
<Limit>: 0.2 mm
Side clearance:
0.03  0.08 mm
<Limit>: 0.15 mm
3. Check:
 Oil pump operation
Unsmooth operation  Replace.
