PROGRAM
This folder contains all the program output pattern files. All the files in this folder can be
used as program files.
When the GS200 is sent from the factory, two sample program files are stored in this
folder. These sample program files are also created when you format the disk.
SETUP
This folder contains all the panel setup files. Any of the files in this folder can be selected
as a setup file.
When the GS200 is sent from the factory, a sample setup file is stored in this folder. This
sample setup file is also created when you format the disk.
Volatile Disk (GS200RAM)
The GS200RAM is a volatile disk. When you turn the GS200 on, this disk is automatically
formatted. During storage, the result file (Result.csv) is created on this disk.
This disk is normally used to transfer files that the GS200 generates to your PC.
However, a system file is transferred from your PC to this disk when you update the
system firmware. For details, see section 14.5, “Updating the System Firmware.”
Note
You can create files and folders on the GS200RAM, but be sure that the disk does not become
full. The data on this disk is lost when the GS200 is turned off.
Formatting the Disk
You can format the disk if you want to reset the GS200ROM to the factory default
conditions, if the non-volatile or volatile disk cannot be detected by your PC, or if you
believe the data on the disk is corrupt.
USB Communication (USB-TMC command control; see chapter 10 for the
procedures)
The GS200 has a USB2.0 device interface. This interface allows access to the USB
storage feature as well as allows command control from a VISA (Virtual Instrument
Software Architecture) library using a VISA USB-TMC device driver as defined by the VXI
Plug&Play System Alliance.
