Ethernet Communications (/C10 option; see chapter 11 for the procedures)
The GS200 has a LAN interface with auto switching between 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps.
You can assign a static IP address or obtain an address dynamically from a DHCP
server. The following four features are available.
Command Control Using VXI-11
The GS200 has an Ethernet VXI-11 device driver. This allows command control from a
VISA library.
Panel Control Using a Browser (see section 11.5 for the procedure)
The GS200 has a Web server feature. This allows you to display the front panel image
of the GS200 on a PC’s Web browser and remotely control the GS200 from the Web
browser.
File Transfer with FTP Clients
Up to five clients can establish FTP connections by way of the anonymous FTP server
function. The non-volatile disk (GS200ROM) and volatile disk (GS200RAM) can
be handled as a PC file server. Files such as program files can be transferred, and
measured result data can be loaded onto a PC through the use of the FTP protocol.
For information on the GS200ROM and GS200RAM, see “USB Storage Feature,” on
page 2-25.
Command Control Using Port 7655
The GS200 has a command mnemonic stream parsing server that can connect up to five
clients. The terminator (CR, LF, or CR+LF) can be specified.
Because each server feature is independent, you can for example, control the GS200
using commands while it is transferring files using FTP.
GP-IB Communications (See chapter 12 for the procedures)
The GS200 has an interface that is used to control the GS200 using commands. You
can specify the same settings as you would using the front panel keys of the GS200 and
output setup data and measured data. Because the command control of the GS200 is
mutually independent, other communication features can be used while you are using
GP-IB to control the GS200.
Saving, Loading, and Deleting Setup Data (See section 9.2 for the procedure)
The current settings can be saved to a setup file (Setup01.txt to Setup04.txt) on the non-
volatile disk (GS200ROM). The saved setup data can be loaded to restore the settings.
The setup file is a text file that contains communication commands. This file can be
edited later on your PC.
For information on the GS200ROM and GS200RAM, see “USB Storage Feature,” on
page 2-25.
Selecting the Settings Applied at Power-On (See section 9.3 for the procedure)
The GS200 settings at power-on can be changed from the default settings to the settings
selected by the user.
If the selected file is deleted or renamed, the GS200 will start with its default settings.
