CHAPTER 2 HOST INTERFACES AND
CABLE PINOUTS
Introduction
This chapter describes the host interfaces supported by the MP7000 Scanner Scale, and how to connect the
MP70XX to a host. It also include host interface barcodes. See
Figure 1-1 on page 1-7 for locations of the interface
connectors.
OPOS/JAVAPOS settings are outside the scope of this guide. For the Zebra SDK, go to:
www.zebra.com/scannersdkforwindows.
Interfaces, Components, and Communication
The MP70XX supports the following.
POS Interfaces and Host Communication
USB 2.0 full speed using Zebra USB multi-host cables
RS-232 connection using several communication protocols.
RS-485 communication protocol.
NOTE SDK supported functionality by communication protocol is listed in
Appendix E, Communication Protocol

IMPORTANTAvoid inserting a POS cable in the AUX 1 or AUX 2 port.
