Use the same wizard for uploading a form to Acrobat.com for distribu-
tion. Again, open the wizard and then follow these steps:
1. On the rst screen of the wizard, choose “Automatically download &
organize responses with Acrobat.com”; click Next.
2. Type your Adobe ID and Password into the appropriate elds on the
screen, and click Sign In to authenticate your Adobe ID.
3. The Distribute Form dialog opens. In this dialog, you congure the
invitation for your distribution list:

Click To in order to display your Outlook e-mail address book, or
type the addresses in the eld.
•
Leave the default subject and message or type your own. The mes-
sage invites you to complete the form and click Submit to return it
to the sender.
•
Choose an Access Level from the pop-up menu. The option is “Open
access: Anyone who knows the URL can ll out and submit the
form.” To restrict the form’s recipients, choose “Limited access: Only
my specic recipients can ll out and complete the form.”
•
Select the “Collect name & e-mail from recipients to provide optimal
tracking” check box to maintain up-to-date records of your form
cycle.
4. Click Send. Acrobat processes the form. First, a PDF portfolio le is cre-
ated in the form’s folder for storing results; then the form is prepared
and sent on its way.
5. The form le closes in Acrobat, and the Tracker opens. (Check out the
Tracker in #93, “Tracking Forms.”)

A form can be distributed for
completion by those work-
ing with Adobe Reader if
you enable the usage rights.
As in the commenting and
reviewing process, specify
the rights that users are
given to allow them to work
in Adobe Reader. Choose
Advanced > Extend Features
in Adobe Reader. The usage
rights include the following:
•
Saving form data from a
fill-in PDF form
•
Using commenting and
drawing markups
•
Signing an existing
signature field
•
Digitally signing any-
where on a document
(for Adobe Reader 8 or 9
users only)
Click Save Now to resave the
file. Enabling form fill-in rights
is limited to 500 copies of a
form. By the way, you can’t
enable features if you are in
Form Edit mode.
