Z100-TYPE HARDWARE
Additional attendant consoles are remotely powered by the 346 bulk power supply or
individual power units. Refer to ADJUNCT POWERING for details on remote powering
from adjunct power units located at satellite locations, site locations, or information outlets.
Note: The 329A Power Unit should not be used to remotely power the attendant
console.
The maximum cabling distance for an attendant console powered from the switch cabinet is
350 feet (107 m). Maximum cabling distances for additional attendant consoles is 2400 feet
(732 m) for 24-gauge wire and 1500 feet (457 m) for 26-gauge wire.

Unpack attendant console and inspect for damage.
Determine port assignment of console from Attendant Console Form (see Note).

Note: The primary attendant console is always connected to control carrier
slot 02.
If power is to be supplied from the switch cabinet (not available on the System 75
XE), do steps 4, 5, and 6; otherwise, go to step 7.
Run and connect B25A cable from connector X on first cable access panel to switch
side of cross-connect field (see Figure 2-79).
Install yellow (8-section auxiliary) label on connector module and label one jack as
AD PWR.
Connect jumpers from ACC PWR terminals to the second pair of the appearance
on the X terminal row that corresponds to jack labeled in step 5 (see Figure 2-79).
Label appearance as AD PWR.
If power is to be supplied at cross-connect field, connect power adapter cord
(Figure 2-10) to attendant console appearance on the station side and AD PWR
jack in the yellow field or a power unit located above the cross-connect field. If
power is not supplied at cross-connect field, provide power as described under
ADJUNCT POWERING.
Install patch cord at cross-connect field.
Connect console line jack on bottom of console to information outlet (Figure 2-78).
Install labels per Attendant Console Form and Display Module Form Assignments.
Install handset bracket on left or right side of console, as desired.
Insert handset adapter on same side of handset bracket.
Note: The handset adapter is available in two models: 854A-03 (black) or
854A-143 (burgundy).
A bracket is not required for a headset.
