Z100-TYPE HARDWARE
1-Point Administration
For 1-point administration (see Figure 2-75), the patch cords are connected between purple
field jacks and white field jacks at the equipment room. At the satellite location, the patch
cords are connected between identically numbered white field jacks (equipment room side)
and blue field jacks (station side). At the satellite location, use small diagonal pliers to cut
the exposed patch cord release tabs off flush with the front of the jack panel (Figure 2-77).
Remove the tabs at both the blue and white fields. This will make future removal of the
patch cords difficult and provide a single administration point at the equipment room.
To unplug a patch cord "jumper", grasp the patch cord as near as possible to the plug.
While gently pulling the patch cord, use a small screwdriver or paper clip to depress the
release tab against the plug. The plug will easily release from the jack.

2-Point Administration
For 2-point administration (see Figure 2-76), the patch cords are connected between purple
field jacks and white field jacks at the equipment room. At the satellite location, the patch
cords are connected between the white field jacks (equipment room side) and blue field jacks
(station side) as specified on the Port Assignment Record. The Port Assignment Record
must be updated for all administrative changes at the satellite location.
MISCELLANEOUS WIRING INSTALLATION
Installing Attendant Console
Requirements
The attendant console is connected to an information outlet the same as any other voice
terminal. Figure 2-78 shows the connections required for the attendant console.
Power for two consoles only can be provided by the switch cabinet through an auxiliary
cable connected to the cable access panel. Whenever possible, power for the primary
attendant console should be provided by the switch cabinet. This makes the primary console
fully operational during short (less than 10 seconds) power outages.
Note: The attendant console cannot be powered from the switch cabinet on the System
75 XE.
