110-TYPE HARDWARE
Installing and Removing Jumper Wires
Jumper wires can be used with the 110-type hardware instead of patch cords. The same
procedures for installation and removal of patch cords should be followed for the installation
and removal of jumpers. When jumpers are being used instead of patch cords; however, an
impact tool must be used to insert or remove the jumper wires from the connecting blocks.
Installing and Removing Power Adapter Cords
The F-61789 power adapter cords are installed as described previously under ADJUNCT
POWERING (see Figure 3-86). The power adapter cords can only be used with the 4-pair
station circuit connecting blocks. The voice terminal and adjunct should be installed prior to
installing the power adapter cord and patch cord.
To remove a power adapter cord, proceed as follows:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
On the Port Assignment Record, locate the connecting block associated with the
station jack number for the voice terminal receiving remote power.
Locate the power adapter cord plug at the 110 terminal block (blue field).
Trace the power adapter cord through the patch cord troughs to the remote power
supply.
Unplug the power adapter cord at the power supply.
Remove the power adapter cord from the patch cord troughs.
Remove the power adapter cord from the connecting block.
Remove and store the power adapter cord.
Update the Port Assignment Record.
Satellite Locations
The guidelines for installing and removing patch cords, jumper wires, and power adapter
cords at the equipment room cross-connect field should be followed at the satellite locations.
The cross-connects should be made between the white field (equipment room side) and the
blue field (terminal side).
1-Point Administration
For 1-point administration (see Figure 3-92), the patch cords are connected between purple
field connecting blocks and white field connecting blocks at the equipment room. The patch
cords are connected between identically numbered white field connecting blocks (equipment
room side) and blue field connecting blocks (station side).
2-Point Administration
For 2-point administration (see Figure 3-93), the patch cords are connected between purple
field connecting blocks and white field connecting blocks at the equipment room. At the
satellite location, patch cords are connected between the white field connecting blocks
(equipment room side) and blue field connecting blocks (station side) as specified on the Port
Assignment Record. The Port Assignment Record must be updated for all administrative
changes at the satellite location.
