Wall Space Requirements
The Trunk/Auxiliary Field and the Distribution Field are mounted on the same wall. Each
110-TYPE HARDWARE
110P-type terminal block is approximately 8-1/2 inches (21.6 cm) wide. The vertical patch
cord troughs are approximately 5-5/16 inches (13.5 cm) wide each and the horizontal patch
cord troughs are approximately 23 (58.4 cm) inches wide.
If 110A-type hardware is used, each terminal block is approximately 10-13/16 inches
(27.4 cm) wide; however, no horizontal patch cord troughs are used and the blocks are
shorter which allows them to be stacked. Therefore, the 110A-type hardware requires less
space on a per-station basis.
Approximately 8 (20.3 cm) inches of horizontal wall space is required for each column of
sneak fuse panels. Horizontal wall space must also be provided for emergency transfer
units.
Equipment Requirements
Cable Slack Manager Requirements
Each cable slack manager is approximately 32 inches (81.3 cm) wide. The number of cable
slack managers needed for the system can be found by dividing the total length of the cross-
connect field in inches by 32. Any partial numbers of .4 or less should be rounded down to
the whole number and any partial numbers of .5 or more should be rounded up to the next
whole number (for example: 2.4 = 2 cable slack managers and 2.5 = 3 cable slack managers
required).
110-Type Hardware and Patch Cord Requirements
Table 3-I lists the requirements for the 110-type hardware according to system size to
provide 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-pair distribution to the station wiring. The 110 terminal blocks are
available in various sizes and the number of stations that can be connected to each block
depends on the number of pairs that are run per station.
