7. Attach a regulated, flowing gas mixture of 5% CO
2
(± 0.03%) balance nitrogen (N2) to the airway adapter. Set the flow
rate of the calibration gas to 2 – 5 liters per minute.
8. Allow 10 seconds for the reading to stabilize. The expected reading is 5% ± 0.26%.
Note:
While the Calibration Check routine is in process, all CO
2
alarms are suspended. The alarms resume when the
procedure is complete.
