5.4.8 First Cylinder Head
NOTE: The timing sprocket scale

should be at the position as picture
shows, paralleling with cylinder head
lower surface

Remove timing sprocket bolt

Remove timing sprocket

NOTE: Hook timing chain after
removing sprocket, in case the chain
falls inside the engine.
NOTE: Make marks on timing sprockets
during removal, to prevent getting
mixed up during installation.
Remove bolts

Remove bolts

Remove cylinder head

NOTE: Make marks on first cylinder
head during removal, to prevent getting
mixed up during installation.
Remove roller needle

Remove cylinder head gasket

.
Remove chain guide
3
.
NOTE: Make marks on chain guides
during removal, to prevent getting
mixed up during installation.
5.4.9 Second Cylinder TDC Adjustment
When the first is at TDC, use a socket to
rotate bolt

one 360-degree turn, then
continue to rotate and watch for the mark
“II”
2
through viewing hole. Rotate using
the socket until the mark is at the center
of the hole. Such position is the TDC of
second (transmission side) cylinder.
